A TRIP TO REMEMBER

Last month I traveled to Hawaii to attend a college friend’s wedding. Expecting a weekend of pure relaxation and fun with old friends, it quickly turned into chaotic disaster and a trip to remember to say the least. Perhaps I was still getting over the (literal) sting from the trip to post these photos but long story short: I forgot my ENTIRE wallet at the airport, then within hours of arriving and running down to the beach, I got stung by jellyfish which had wrapped around both my legs, cut up my whole left knee from the coral reef while surfing, and finally getting stuck sitting next to a crying sick baby next to me on the flight back was the cherry on top (I did end up getting sick immediately after…of course).

Despite all of the pain and stress, the wedding was one of the most beautiful ones I had ever had the honor of attending. SO glad to have experienced it all. xx

For all the weddings you’ll be attending:

Je T’aime Paris

Traveling to Europe has been a dream of mine ever since I could remember, and this summer, I had the opportunity to finally go. When traveling in Europe, I wanted to visit all of the many tourist attractions without looking like a tourist (or looking lost for that matter). Meaning, no athleisure and sportswear but chic (and most importantly, comfy) flats, a blazer that takes me from day to night and the perfect black mini to style.

Cornered

Working in downtown LA has it’s perks – for one, fantastic food options and most importantly, the beauty of the city architecture. Catch me on the corner of Grand and 6th rocking my favorite Citizens of Humanity Jumpsuit.

The Springs

DTLA lovers, look no further than this hot spot that serves up brunch (+ other daily treats) AND yoga. Yes, it’s true. The Springs has a yoga studio and a wellness center in the back and a kitchen and juice bar in the front. Spacious and not to mention has free parking (which is a rarity anywhere in LA), this space is a gem and the perfect place to grab a book and take a breather in the midst of the bustling city.

Simplified Intentions

It’s no surprise that apart from my general black and white go-to attire, I’m stocked up on the basic essentials. Vintage tee, moto jacket, worn in- denim and the perfect black boots, anyone? As we sift through our closets on the daily while repeatedly saying to ourselves “I have nothing to wear,” we forget that we can make a killer outfit even with pieces on repeat. And as part of my new year resolution: to simplify and destress whenever possible, this keeps to that promise and makes life a whole lot easier.

CITY HEIGHTS

Zara Basic T-shirt with Asymmetric Hem, Zara Coated Skinny Trousers, Steve Madden Boots, Vintage Bag

Being an LA native definitely does not mean you’ve explored all that LA has to offer. I mean, how could you really… there’s so much to do! Not too long ago, I made my first trip out to the Griffith Observatory. It started with a morning hike to the Hollywood sign and then sight seeing in the evening from the the heights of the observatory. Overlooking the city in the setting sun was the perfect closure to an eventful day.

ELECTRIFYING BLUE

Vince Little Boy Tee / Zara Printed Pencil Skirt / Shoes

When it comes to dressing myself, I tend to keep a subdued color palette. The exception to this penchant was this electrifying neoprene pencil skirt. Enthralled by it’s artistry, I had to scale down the rest of the outfit in order to let it shine. Sunday brunching about Los Angeles calls for chic and comfortable attire and these pieces procured just that. This lightweight skirt will most definitely reinstitute itself into my spring wardrobe as well, you can count on that!

BOYFRIEND JEANS

R1R2R3R4R5R6R7Zara Tank (similar) / Zara Boyfriend Jeans / Movado Chronograph Watch

With the boyfriend jean trend still going strong, I had to snag the slouchiest pair I could possibly find. My all time favorite is this pair in particular from Zara. Perfectly snug at the waist and thoroughly baggy at the thighs, I’m able to sport these bad boys with confidence…not giving a bystander an all access view on my unmentionables, if you know what I mean!  Working almost everyday makes you yearn for comfortable anythings and these are the cherry on top on completing my off-duty look.
