Happy first day of Spring! To start this new season, I took a short trip down to SoHo to the Apartment by the Line in hopes to find some major interior design inspiration. Spring prompts us to not only do some spring cleaning in our homes and apartments but to do a bit of re-design to add a fresh new flavor to our surroundings.
Lusting over everything from their luxurious leather chairs with fur details to their clawfoot tub to their IMPECCABLE walk in closet with nothing but designer duds from Altuzarra, Oliver Peoples & Common Projects and more, it was truly every fashion-savvy girl’s dream.
The Apartment by the Line has most definitely become my favorite conceptual design space and I highly recommend stopping by for a visit if ever in the SoHo area.
Health has a new shape and it’s round in form. With juice fads and crazy diets, it’s impossible to know what’s truly healthy or what is substantially necessary for your diet. What I do know however is how fulfilling it is to create something with little time and ease and in a way that doesn’t break the bank. Stay tuned for more posts about my favorite bowls; something sweet and savory for everyone.
Today’s bowl: Veggie Quinoa Breakfast Bowl
yield: 1 serving
1/2 cup of quinoa, rinsed
1/2 cup of milk
1/2 cup of water
broccoli, cut into florets
cheddar cheese, grated
salt & pepper, to taste
Heat a little bit of olive oil in a pan over medium high. Add broccoli and mushrooms, and stir-fry until cooked (around 5 minutes). Remove from heat and set aside.
Combine milk, water, and quinoa in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer, stirring regularly*, until most of the liquid has been absorbed.
Add vegetables, cheese, and salt & pepper to the pot of quinoa and stir to combine. Cover and set aside.
Fry a sunny side–up egg.
Transfer the quinoa to a bowl, then top with the egg.
On the 1st day of NYFW, I attended the ever so colorful Desigual show. A whirlwind of colors and prints floated down the runway to upbeat tunes on radiant, sprightly models. One model in particular stood out above the rest as she strutted down the runway with unfading confidence. As the new face of the Desigual Campaign, Chantelle Brown-Young who suffers from Vitiligo- a skin pigment disorder, redefined the standards of beauty and encompassing Desigual’s philosophy of “enjoying life and being happy.”

Biased on all fronts, I can’t help but covet the most perfect basics from Helmut Lang, not only just for Spring but for the seasons to come. Lusting over clean and crisp tee’s, comfortable sneakers and the best minimalist accessory by far, these 3 pieces are key for perfecting the minimalist vibe. Taking cue from Helmut Lang, these are truly the essentials you’ll want to have!

To wrap up 2014, I’ve made a compilation of my top 3 favorite trends of the year. Looking back, these were my favorite in terms of practicality, functionality and overall just fun. What were your favorite trends of the year?
Oversized everything (via Celine)
There’s nothing better than feeling comfortable in oversized sweaters, coats, pants more all throughout the year. Bring on the holiday feasts!
A hint of Western (via Kenneth Cole)
We tip our hats to KCole for their western inspired attire as the clothes inspire us to pair workwear with weekend wear in a fun, relaxed, yet edgy way.
Sneakers & Sportswear (via multiple designers)
Sneakers & Sportswear practically go hand in hand. This year was major in terms of trading in your heels for a pair of slip on’s or snagging the newest pair of Nike’s or Adidas as part of the everyday attire. (I opt for a more minimalist look, that of Common Projects) Thankful for this trend as a NY resident!
Additionally, the sportswear trend took off this year. From Net-a-porter’s launch of Net-a-sporter to Alexander Wang’s H&M collab, this is only the beginning of bringing complete functionality to our everyday lives and wardrobes.

Living on the East Coast brings traveling to many of the iconic states something of a breeze. Hop on a train and you’re at your travel destination within hours. DC was #1 on my list of East Coast destinations and I was in constant awe of the city’s deep history and amazed by its cleanliness. Above are scenes from my memorable visit.

With the holiday season right around the corner, festive attire comes to mind. Son Jung Wan does this better than anyone with her frill seeking cuts, color palette and sequins. Minimalist in nature as always, I opted for one of her chic low cut structured vneck dresses. View her lookbook for major holiday attire inspiration here.
